WSES organized in November, 2016 the first training course about Mass Casualty Incident Management in Italy, in collaboration with Israeli Foreign Ministry and the Italian blood donors’ association in Bergamo.
The course pointed out management clinical and logistics difficulties in dealing with unpredictable events, like natural catastrophes, terrorist attacks or mass incidents. The big experience of Israeli centers offered food for thought about efficient solutions and the necessity of coordination through a national protocol, of training and competence.
The involved Trauma Centers are intended to pursue this direction to implement protocols at international level.
